| QI GONG (Chi Kung) Qi (pronounced Chee) is the Chinese word for "Life Energy". Gong refers to the persistent cultivation of something to a very high level of proficiency. So QI GONG is the cultivation of the life-force energy to improve health and well-being of body, mind and spirit. The term encompasses a vast range of self-healing practices, grounded in the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. There are Qi Gong Practices suitable for every age and state of health.
Taiji (Tai Chi) is a specialised form of Qi Gong with emphasis on connected, slow, flowing movements which deeply integrate mind, body and spirit.
A typical Qi Gong class is both energising and relaxing. It will include a combination of stretching and flowing movements, together with breathing and mind/body awareness.
Julie's work at all levels is deeply influenced by the "awareness through movement" principles of the Feldenkrais Method.
